"this weekend"

OK, let's say it's Monday and you use "this weekend" in a sentence. Do you mean the weekend that just passed or the weekend that is forthcoming?

And speaking of this weekend, can't wait to see this guy up in Santa Barbara tomorrow (and no, I won't be at Oprah's.)
