HR people sort of freak me out. They seem to be in their own secret club with their own secret hand shake and their own secret language. I was on the phone with this one woman who was setting up an interview with this dude my boss wants to hire and she called him "the candidate" like 4 times in 2 minutes. It just rolled off her tongue as though it's perfectly normal to refer to this person, whose name we all know, as "the candidate." Umm, we out here in the real world don't talk like that, crazy lady.
