from moment one I was in pain. I just didn't get the humor. like what the hell was that scene with bernie mac? or the raid of the hacker's house? or the scene where the robots were hiding in the yard? or peeing on john turturro. the whole tone didn't work for me. but I'm clearly in the minority.
The slapstick was admittedly unnecessary and Bernie Mac is always pointless. Still, if one could suspend disbelief and be transported back to one's childhood, it was easy to get swept up in the "story." Plus, Shia LaBoeuf (sp?) is surprisingly unannoying -- he's come so far since Even Stevens -- and the girl is cute.
