tony's

as I ffwd thru the awards on my dvr, I'm struck by just how insider it all is, not only geographically speaking, but financially. I mean to afford to go to these shows even if you live there...is there a nationally broadcast show that caters to a demographic that is more inherently limited?

Perhaps he's gunning for our COO's job. (Please note the two correct uses of the apostrophe rule.)

haha. the first thing I noticed when I re-read the post this morning. then was like, perhaps no one's read it yet...d'oh three comments! can I plead a late night defense?

but getting back to The Tonys, CK have you seen Spring Awakening and Coast of Utopia? you like?

Utopia, no. Awakening, yes. Strange experience. Good score, GREAT cast, but it's strange to watch kind of a rock show with everyone politely seated. And mildly confused.

did you feel similarly during rent, urinetown, etc? was it something about this show in particular thaat seemed odd?

what were they saying about utopia being 9 hours?

Christopher said...

Didn't see RENT, but I don't think I felt that way about URINETOWN at all... I don't remember that score being particularly rockin'

Oh, and yes, UTOPIA was a three part, nine hour, cycle.
