A counter-argument.

Sorry, TB, but I liked it alot. I had some minor issues, but in general found it really compelling.

hmm. well, I guess I just don't know what the film amounts to. we follow aspects of the life of a guy who's purported to be a "fixer" but can't actually fix anything. for me, the film explores not one part of his life to a satisfying degree. the brother, the son, the ex-wife...what was all that about and why do I care, except that the scene with the son in the car was perhaps the best scene in the movie? the things I liked most about the film were scenes and performances, separate from the film as a whole, which was for me unexceptional, although well-written and well-directed and yes, for the most part, dramatically compelling. But my number one question about the film has to be: "so...?"
