yeah, Gonzalez is toast. he's gotta be. even crazy Senator Coburn (he of "high schools are full of lesbians!" fame) called for his resignation yesterday.
But know how I really know he's toast? Bush said these famous words:
but it begs the question, why is he still there? he should have been toast weeks ago. does the WH really want to humiliate him, and themselves in the process?
It's not even enjoyable as political theatre, because he's a disaster, and there's a limit to schadenfreude...
good point. I guess they somehow thought he could save himself yesterday, but, umm, not so much. I suspect Republican senators are pressuring Bush to ask for Abu G's resignation. that's the only way it's going to happen.
